Pete Ivey (Jason Dolly) is the type of guy who’s easily overlooked in the school halls—unlike his best friend, Cletus Poole (Michelle Musso), who proudly heads the school as the spirited Brewster High chicken. Carrying on the family tradition of spreading the spirit. But when the costume indicates an allergy attack, Poole begs Pete to take his place on center court; The resulting oblivion frees Pete to find his inner star. The trouble is, Poole is the one getting all the attention from fans who think he’s behind the mask. Meanwhile, beautiful new girl Angela (Josie Lauren)’s attempts to get Pete’s attention are complicated by the fact that she’s also obsessed with the mysterious man in a chicken suit. In the end, Pete must decide whether facing the prospect of rejection is worth revealing to himself for who he is – and who – he really is.
