In Russia, the mystic student of the linguist Marina Leonova is in love with her lover Artur. However, he blows her off and dates his classmate Vika. When their class travels to the countryside to research mysterious places with their professor, Sergei Rudolfovich, they meet a strange old woman in the woods and she invites them to dine with her. The estranged Marina lives by the lake and Artur asks her to have sex. Though shocked by their friends and embarrassed Marina runs away into the woods. Kostya, who has a crush on Marina, follows her and they get lost in the forest. Marina and Kostya arrive at an abandoned house and Marina decides to explore the place. She finds the mummified corpse of a witch holding a shield and she is possessed by a force and faints. Sergei and his students find him and he calls in a rescue team to help Marina. However, a violent elite squad in a helicopter arrives instead and the students soon learn that Mining Minister Alexander is the son of the powerful sorcerer Yalto Vallow who was murdered centuries earlier by the Queen of Witches. Alexander wants to regain his father’s power and needs a spell of magic that will release his power from the shield. But Marina is also a witch and will do anything to keep the evil Alexander from gaining power.
