Movie Plot: Near 20 major coastal cities, there are several apparent meteors in the world’s oceans. The objects prove to be spacecraft with a hostile exterior. As Los Angeles (LA) is being evacuated, Marines arrive from Camp Pendleton, including Iraq War Staff Sergeant Michael Nantz. Nantz, who was about to begin his retirement, was assigned to Echo Company, 1st Platoon of the 2nd Battalion 5th Marines.
Under the command of Second Lieutenant William Martinez, the platoon arrives at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) established at Santa Monica Airport. The Alien Ground Force has no apparent air support, so the Air Force prepares a carpet bomb in the Santa Monica area, and the platoon is given three hours to evacuate civilians from the LAPD station in West LA. As they move through LA, they are ambushed and suffer several casualties. Nantz marries Amell and Harris to search for Lenin, who is missing from the group. After fighting a foreigner, he teamed up with some Army National Guard soldiers and Air Force Intelligence Technical Sergeant, Elena Santos. At the police station, McShift finds five civilians: vet Michelle, the children’s father Kirsten, Amy and Hector, and Hector. A helicopter arrives to rescue the wounded Marines, but cannot carry the weight of the civilians. During takeoff, it is destroyed by foreign air units, killing Greyston, Guerrero, Lenihan, and Simmons.
